Weekly Support Group for Depression & Bipolar Disorder

Fee: $20 each session


The bi-polar and depression support group is supportive as well as educational. Each meeting has a different topic, including information about St. Louis doctors who specialize in mood disorders; the latest research on medications; why antidepressants should rarely be used for bipolar disorder; and articles and books to read in order to be more informed about the illness.

Each member of the group has the opportunity to ask questions, as well as share experiences. All ideas are welcome, so that collectively, all needs of each member is met in the best way possible.

Religious Professional's Support Groups

These groups are ongoing and provide an opportunity for religious professionals to consult with each other and minister_picwith a facilitator concerning congregational dynamics and pastoral issues.  Cost is $20 per session

  • Weekly at Unity Lutheran Church Bel Nor, Tuesdays, 10:45 a.m. to Noon.
  • Every other week at Care and Counseling- Main Office, Creve Coeur, Thursdays, 2:30 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Metro East Religious Professional’s Support Group

Group provides opportunity for religious professionals to consult with each other and a facilitator concerning congregational dynamics and pastoral issues. Creating a Healthier Church, will be used to provide a common language, but will be directed by needs of group.

Family of Origin Group for the Helping Professional

This group is limited to clergy, therapists, and other helping professionals. The aim is to examine the professional's family of origin issues which facilitate and limit the relationship with clients and congregants. The work of Murray Bowen and Ed Friedman will be considered. The group meets on Friday afternoons at Care and Counseling for 4 hours on a monthly or every six-week basis. Schedules are set by group.
