Kim CellaDegrees: M.S.W., Washington University, St. Louis; B.S., Vanderbilt University. My journey to becoming a therapist was quite serendipitous. During my own therapy as a young adult I encountered a particularly charismatic psychotherapist who inspired me, not just to embrace a new and more effective way of thinking and being, but to help others do the same. He was inspiringly human and self-disclosing; he left life-long impressions on me, the desire to become a therapist the most lasting and important. My work with this psychotherapist fostered some kind of resonance in me – a deep felt recognition that I was on the track of my future and it involved going back to school and training to become what I am today. I am consistently humbled, honored and privileged to be given the opportunity to sit with clients on a daily basis…to listen, support, offer feedback and to challenge. I strive to provide clients a safe, sacred space to tell their story. It is an honor to be part of helping people reach their goals, whether it has been to navigate the emotional component of a medical situation, steady themselves from the disarray of a painful situation, rebalance a relationship or gain clarification and validation to elevate levels of self-esteem. My psychodynamic orientation allows me to provide support, empathy and encouragement in a way that strives to break the way the mind and body provoke and respond to one another, thereby establishing a psychotherapeutic change process. Specialties: Individuals, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, self-esteem, relationships, divorce. |
